Daily Deck Tech: Mirror, Mirror, Who Is the Unfairest of Them All?

This deck has no lands! Rather its lands are double-faced cards, and , whose front side is a spell. This means that when the abilities of or resolve, they will mill your whole library. Among the cards milled are multiple , which put themselves onto the board to feed a flashbacked . You bring back this way, and as you have an empty library you win the game.

Although you can combo as early as turn one, the requirement is to reach four mana with acceleration like , , and the Spirit Guides, and . Often you may wait a couple of turns, either to assemble all the pieces or to find some answers: is the most important to fight on the stack, but you can check for opposing answers with discard in and . As soon as the path is clear, you can combo to win.

Wilds of Eldraine gave us . It fits perfectly into "Oops! All Spells" because it costs four mana and is the same color as Balustrade Spy, thus working like extra copies of the card that kickstarts the combo. The costs put some strain on the game plan, but helps, and converting a spare or even better a Mox this way is indeed a bargain.

Combo decks tend to have nontrivial lines, which are relevant when the path to combo isn't clear. I'd like to highlight a couple of card choices that have multiple usages or may look out of place. The first is , which when paired with can filter green into black mana, even more relevant since Beseech the Mirror. The second is , which can be used to target yourself in the case you drew the lone copy of Dread Return or Thassa's Oracle. Finally, there is , which fights removal, everything from a lone to , and will create Zombies so you can maintain a healthy creature count to flashback Dread Return and win the game.
