Defeating the evil sea witch from The Little Mermaid can be quite the challenge. Storing and transporting all the material, decks, and oversized cards involved in Illumineer's Quest: Deep Trouble can pose another kind of challenge too. Fortunately, Ultimate Guard's line of products features high-quality solutions for all occasions, like their Boulder, Boulder'n'Tray, as well as the big Minthive that fits everything. Even more fortunately—our friends at Ultimate Guard sent us a huge package of said goodies to give away to the Cardmarket community.
So last month we put out a call to all Lorcana players and asked you to send us the decklist you'd use to beat Ursula. Since then our Lorcana experts have been busy wading through the sea of submissions. Now they have resurfaced with the results, and it is our pleasure to announce the winners. The runner-up prize of three Boulders and three Boulder'n'Trays each goes to the following Cardmarket users. Congratulations!

- d4rkm1nd

We likewise like to congratulate our three top winners who each receive the bigger prize package including the Minthive. But we also want to give special recognition to the work they put in. Let's take a closer look at their decklists!
First Place: Polar Position

Cardmarket user beltrandido built a spicy, icy Amethyst/Sapphire deck. It has various ways of gaining tempo against Ursula's minions to win the lore race.

We also want to share the detailed breakdown of card choices that beltrandido sent in:
“
: Excellent for turn one, helping to gain some lore before sacrificing it to draw a card. On later turns, it's great for inking. : While questing, this character boosts the strength of out other characters to help take down enemy minions. : With seventeen heroes in the deck, Anna provides early lore gain and helps speed up the game. She has high willpower, making her durable. With support or even , she becomes a real threat early on. - Madam Mim Bounce Package (Snake, Fox, and Elephant): The classic Amethyst bounce package helps us buy time and reuse some characters.
, in particular, also helps win combats while weakening Ursula's characters every turn. - Merlin Package (Rabbit, Crab, and Goat): Combined with Madam Mim, this package gives us great advantage, tempo, and battlefield presence. The Rabbits are key for keeping our game running smoothly, while the Crab helps apply pressure.
- Ramp Package (like Growing Son and
): One big advantage of combining Amethyst with Sapphire is the ability to ramp ink quickly. This helps us play our top-end spells, like Elsa or Mufasa, faster. : One of the most versatile cards in the deck, Belle not only provides a solid body that quests for two lore each turn but also lets us move damage from one character to enemy characters. : A great combat body, Elsa also helps take down enemy evasive characters. Plus, she offers the option to shift into big Elsa to gain both time and lore. : One of the best cards in the deck gives us a solid body that threatens three lore while freezing two enemy characters so Ursula can't gain lore. She can even be reused with the bounce package! : Mufasa speeds up the game significantly. If he stays on the board, he provides four lore and tons of ink to play as many characters as we need. : A classic card-drawing action that can be sung, I don't think this one needs much explanation. : Can we think of a better location? Not only does it give us lore advantage every turn, but it also provides card advantage, which can be overwhelming when Ursula starts getting out of control.

Second Place: Filmed on Location

DoitsuKoitsu submitted a location-heavy Amethyst/Emerald build with a "lot of heavy questers and extra lore gain. Not many cards to interact with Ursula's characters, but with her playing all her cards, Belle and Flynn look nice. Wildcat helps get rid of items. Jasper and Gothel stop Ursula from questing."

Third Place: … and Action!

Norwagen mentioned being worried about the dearth of draw options for this deck but happy to take advantage of the rules with cards like

Norwagen also shared the following tips:
“
Ursula has really annoying items that let her gain lots of lore and draw extra cards. If you can shift
on turn one, you can destroy the almost immediately. Then, just try to keep a Brave Rescuer in play, so you can deal with s instantly. The ideal combo is to have
, , and/or on , waiting for the final blow so you can trigger both abilities, winning four lore on each banished character. Ursula has many characters for you to banish on each turn, and only or can deal with Thebes. Try to keep just one on the field each turn and not to banish any Tamatoa as he will return on the next turn. - Extra tip: Don't spend lore on battleground abilities if you are playing alone!
