Staple or Stinker: Magic Cards Versus Yu-Gi-Oh! Expert

Can a Yu-Gi-Oh! player figure out if a Magic card is a hit or a miss, a staple or a stinker? Taylor is up for the challenge but down on his luck as Thoralf has prepared a particularly tricky set of cards. Can Taylor get them right anyway?

Doubling, Breaching, Fortune Telling

The cards up for debate this time: , , , , and . Below you can find every Pro Tour Top 8 list whose main deck included one of the latter three!

Excluding Players Tour & Sideboards

If we included all Players Tour events, even the preliminary regional tournaments that fed the Pro Tour equivalent of the time, would show up in a handful of decks before it got banned from Pioneer. But no Modern Pro Tour took place while and Breach were both legal, leaving Underworld Breach with a total of zero Top 8 appearances proper.

If we included sideboards, would have one Pro Tour Top 8 appearance to its name, but basically by accident. Pro Tour Prague 2006 featured Ravnica/Guildpact/Dissension draft all the way, with absolutely no Constructed play. In its Top 8, Christian Hüttenberger drafted a deck with no use for Doubling Season but still needed to register the late-pick rare as a sideboard card.

Finally, made it to the Top 8 of Pro Tour Paris 1997 as a singleton in one main deck, see above. Darwin Kastle had one copy in his sideboard in the same Top 8. Once red actually got good creatures, three Deadguy Red decks each with one copy in the sideboard also made it to the Top 8 of the 1998 World Championship, which counted as a Pro Tour at the time.
