We take a quick look at a deck featuring the latest additions from March of the Machine every workday throughout the rest of April. Birgi is an incredible monored commander for stormy builds, but it seems it finally has some competition. Urabrask is here to continue the Great Work!
While maybe not as immediately powerful as , I'm sure is capable of providing lots of stormy fun. It's a bit awkward how it only triggers on instants and sorceries cast, but pinging opponents one by one for 1 damage seems significant enough. Better yet, flipping Urabrask should be easy enough to do, making it a bit tougher to kill. The Saga's second and third abilities also do great work at complimenting each other and using your opponents' decks against them.
Sadly I don't think there are enough ways to make the deck revolve strictly around The Great Work. You can include stuff like , , and , but I'm afraid that and are a bit too slow. Chances are you'd just do better with as many instants and sorceries as possible.
Those that draw or exile cards from the top of the library, allowing you to play them, probably have an advantage here. This is why I'd include many of these and couple them with payoffs like and . Since Birgi doesn't deal damage on casting, we might as well build Urabrask in that exact fashion.
should still be good enough because you can include the / combo and kill everybody this way. Otherwise, you can go for a massive , ending the game on the spot with enough luck. If that fails, there's to try and save the day.
I took a look at some existing lists and crammed in even more instants and sorceries. Here's what I ended up with in the brewing stage:
