Every Thursday Insight is taking a quick look at one of the top-performing, most peculiar, or simply sweetest Modern decks among recent results. Living End had been a force to be reckoned with before, but it becomes even more powerful with the new set and its land cyclers. Let's explore 14-land Living End!
The deck's main strategy is to use cyclers such as or to fill up the graveyard and subsequently bring them all back to life as early as turn three. and allow you to cascade into the namesake , which is both a mass removal spell for what's on the field and a reanimation for everything that's in the graveyard. In the perfect scenario, you'd fully wipe out what the opponent has developed and bring back all the cyclers.

Their addition allowed the community to cut a good chunk of lands, resulting in a deck that has very consistent access to its enablers. Crucially, Ent and Oliphaunt are pretty strong beaters too, so not only are you getting the lands but proper Living End payoffs on top.
The deck isn't helpless in the face of interaction either. It can be attacked by countermagic, graveyard hate, or narrow effects like . However, is a fantastic way to clear the way while putting a body into the graveyard. You're getting additional value when you bring it back and get to use its trigger again. adds another layer of protection that can even defend you against a turn one hate piece when you are on the draw.
This combo deck with a plethora of interaction only got better. Let's punish decks now!
