What's New at Cardmarket? (1/2026)

The Cardmarket team is working on something all the time. There always are card sets to add and bugs to fix, there's help to give and plenty to improve. Read this article to learn more about various updates, big and small, that happened in January!

New Developments

Waiting Room: In the middle of January, we started to experience a significant spike in traffic that seriously impacted website performance. We determined that the best option for an immediate response was to implement a virtual waiting room. So when you go on Cardmarket during times of exceptionally high traffic now, you may be asked to wait up to one minute before you can use the platform as usual. We know that you aren't happy with this situation, and we aren't happy with it ourselves either. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and note: This is only a temporary measure. You can be sure that we are working hard on a long-term solution. Resolving this issue is our top priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding in the meantime!

GPSR Updates: The General Product Safety Regulation mandates that we provide information on all manufacturers/distributors of products sold on our marketplace. We currently maintain a list of all manufacturers as a reference. But we have also begun the process of updating the individual pages for products added after 2024. Not all affected product pages have been updated yet, but here's an example that shows where (1) you can access the information and which details (2) you will see:

Discontinuing Support for Weiß Schwarz Singles: We have decided not to add Weiß Schwarz singles to our product catalog anymore, starting with February's Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines expansion. A combination of factors is driving this change: Weiß Schwarz is releasing more and more cards at a faster and faster pace, all while Cardmarket users interested in Weiß Schwarz mostly buy sealed product. As such, we will keep adding sealed product but have found the upkeep required to maintain a complete singles catalog for this game no longer warranted.

Insight Game Category Updates: We made a small tweak to Cardmarket Insight, the part of our website you're reading right now. Each article published here up to last year had initially been assigned to one specific game. However, many Insight articles cover multiple games, sometimes just two or three, but often a whole bunch. For example, this article you're reading right now lists updates for all of Magic, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana, Star Wars Unlimited, Dragon Ball Super, Digimon, Cardfight!! Vanguard, and Weiß Schwarz. But tagging it with ten different games would be impractical and rather pointless. Instead we have created a new catch-all label and applied it to such articles. This should enable you to navigate Insight even better.

January was a busy month for our games specialists. They completed a bunch of new releases with more than 3,100 cards across nine games:

Older Stuff New on Cardmarket

However, our catalog doesn't just grow with new releases. To have the most comprehensive inventory, we constantly add older sets that were missing from Cardmarket as well. In January our games specialists caught up with fifteen expansions originally released between 2006 and 2025, adding another 1,449 cards.
