Stories Inside Cards: Tales from the D.D. and the Underworld

As I did for my previous article about the story of , I want to note two things. First of all, I only cover cards that have been released in the TCG. Moreover, this is my interpretation of the story told through those cards. Yours might be the same or completely different, so take these stories with a grain of salt. Additionally, Sangan was suggested in the comments for my previous article, so I tried to connect the two stories organically.

Travelers to the Different Dimension

is not the only monster to have been abducted into the Different Dimension. In fact, there are quite a few that have been banished there. But before we talk about them, there are some things that need to be said about story.

Lady's trusted friend and ally continued his missions after their . In one of his assignments, he teamed up with another Different Dimension monster, . Their task was extremely hard. They had to face a really powerful , wielder of the powers of darkness. Unfortunately, their mission failed and Yamimakai beat them with .

The two warriors tried to resist the powers of the demon. However, only managed to narrowly . Our boy was not that lucky. totally corrupted him and turned him into a different .

That is what happened in the future of these two monsters. But what about their past? Well, nothing is known about former life. But we do know a few things about life. Before he somehow ended up in the Different Dimension, he was a skilled .

Survivor and Lady are not the only monsters to have been abducted into the Different Dimension. Another monster had a similar fate. In particular, was abducted by . His past skills came in handy, as he managed to the beast that brought him into that weird world. We are going to learn more about this monster's past in the next section.

Coach Goblin's Past

As with most coaches of any sport, was a boxer himself in his prime. However, after a horrendous to , he probably gave up being an athlete and became a coach.

His first victim … uhm, athlete was . The beating he got from probably made him kinda cruel, as he trained the Orc in a really hard . There is a high chance that around this time, the came through a portal and grabbed him. We already know how unfolded after that abduction. What we have not mentioned yet, though, is that this Goblin managed to escape the Different Dimension .

He reunited with his trainee, who subsequently became far more peaceful and baby-like. Unfortunately, they seperated once . The now pink Orc missed the correct bus as they were returning from a trip to the . Poor Orc …

Touring the Underworld

is one of the most popular monsters in the game. In the past, she used to bring to our fields. Her role in the monsters' world is not much different. Instead of touring monsters to the battlefields of our duels, she guides them in small trips to the underworld.

In her original artwork, she has behind her, the bus monsters use to get to the underworld. The same bus is also used to return to their homes. But be careful, there is another bus that looks identical to the one mentioned before, but won't get you back home. So be really cautious as you might make a grave mistake.

In her alternate artwork, we can see happy monsters touring around the underworld while she guides them. is there, alongside and a blue demon whose name shall remain hidden, for obvious reasons. I am joking. Unfortunately, the monster has not been printed yet.

Things in the underworld are generally simple. Monsters are happy to tour there. Unfortunately, not every trip has a happy ending. Definitely not for who missed the right bus. Neither for who … Well, keep reading to find out.

Sangan's Fate

Our beloved . Such a famous and useful little guy, present in almost every deck for many years. He kept his position in the limited section of the banlist for so long, until something went wrong. It was just an innocent trip, but things turned around pretty fast.

As you all know, is a big fan of trips to the underworld. He always enjoys having a tour there. One day though, after returning from his trip, he made a big . Instead of boarding the , he unknowingly jumped onto a different one. Poor is still chasing the right one while our little friend makes the worst mistake of his life.

The bus Sangan got on is the one going to the . It is never going to get him back to his home. I mean, look who is inside this bus. , , , , and were all banned at that time. The nameless demon also made the same mistake, or he is so broken, they decided to never turn him into a card.

Luckily, our friend realized he should not be on that bus and got off. Afterwards, he found a taxi and decided to with the an . Oh no. Look at the cab's driver. It's one of the imps from . I smell trouble. Bonus fact: the imps from Delinquent Duo grew up to become .

I was right to be afraid. The underworld police the taxi. Oh, the humanity. The imp was smuggling a . They all got arrested. Sangan and the angel are going to be charged as accessories to the illegal shipment. Another bonus fact: in the artwork of Mistaken Arrest, we can see the holy trinity of the Goat format in one card.

Despite his efforts to prove his innocence, Sangan ended up in . He continued to cry, shout, and yell at the guard about him being unjustly held there, but to no avail. He remained in his jail cell with the .

Call the Police

As we saw in Sangan's story, the underworld doesn't only have a touring service. There is a police force there, too. One of the leading officers seems to be .

Other officers have been seen in Sangan's storyline, arresting criminals. However, there are other monsters that have joined the underworld police force. In particular, and are prominent figures who maintain order in the streets of the underworld.

With the help of Beat Cop, the Stygian monsters have dangerous drivers like . With them, the underworld streets will always be safe and clean.

Where They Keep Misbehaving Monsters

It seems like the lore around the banlist does not stop at Sangan. Two more cards provide a meta storyline about the forbidden and limited list.

was banned in the OCG for much longer than it was in the TCG. After his escape from the forbidden part of the list, Goyo Guardian also attempted to escape the limited section, but without . Poor could not even get out of the banned section.

However, after some time, managed to escape the forbidden section. In a very emotional , he said goodbye to all his banned friends. All the broken folks were there, including , , , and .

But how are these two cards related to Sangan's story? Well, the officers from also appear in .
